Message from Pastor Massoud

Dear friends,

As my family and I celebrated the 4th of July at our home with a large group of friends and church members, I was reminded of what a great country we live in.  Of all the freedoms that we enjoy, to me the most amazing one is the freedom to exercise our faith.  My heart goes to Iran and its people who are in the most difficult times.  Despite Iran’s legacies of freedom and justice from the times of Esther, Daniel and Nehemiah as narrated through the Bible, today my people have neither.  Instead of freedom, justice and even the most basic human rights, the Islamic government of Iran delivers beatings and bullets to its people, in particular the younger generation and women.

I’m encouraged by the bravery of the Iranian women who stand up to the guards despite the beatings, knowing that at any moment a fatal bullet may come from anywhere.  Many of the youth who march in Tehran these days wear crosses, even though they do not yet know.  Is it because they believe the cross will protect them?  Is the cross becoming a symbol of resistance?

It is so wonderful that the Holy Spirit continues to work among the Iranian people.  Working through TBN-Nejat, more than 80 home churches are meeting in Iran on a regular basis.  Although there are dangers and difficulties with baptizing new believers due to restrict government regulations, I’m encouraged by all their phone calls and emails from Iranians who are asking about Jesus, desiring to convert, and get baptized.

I’ve a vision for Iran: Starting this month, our church will lead a month long, continuous prayer for Iran with other Iranian churches around the world.  We will pray unceasingly to cast the demonic spirits out of Iran. Just as Nehemiah went to the Persian king to ask for help to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, I have a vision that we too go to Jesus, the king of kings to help us restore his message of love and mercy in Iran.  I want to ask for your continued prayers and support of Nejat Church and this vision.  Please contact me if you wish to help organize this prayer movement.

Report from Nejat Church 2009 Christian Conference

The second annual Nejat Church conference was held at Seattle, Washington from July 16th to 19th.  More than 100 participants came and saw the great wonders of the Holy Spirit: healings, prophecies and revelations.  The theme of the conference was to amplify faith, healing & freedom.

Eight pastors participated in the sessions.  Pastors Michelle and Nathanael Wolf gave several lessons which brought the house down (so to speak) with rounds of Hallelujah, Amen, praises for God and standing ovations.  Pastor Reza Safa led ministry sessions and sermons on healing, faith, and the power of the Holy Spirit.  Pastor Kamran spoke of the need for Christians to organize and prepare for revival in Iran.  Pastors Soorik and Elham delivered lessons on building faith and learning from Jesus.

Several Iranians came to accept the Lord at this conference and were baptized by Pastor Massoud Sadeghi.  It was great to see people from many faiths, Moslems and Baha’i faith came to this conference to ask questions and learn about the Lord Jesus Christ.  The conference participants had come from eight different cities in the US and Canada.  There were prayer sessions for the Iranian people and freedom in Iran.   Several believers found healings and blessings from these prayer sessions.

A Call of Prayer for Iran – Nehemiah’s Vision

Nejat Church invites all other churches to join in prayers for Iranian people’s freedom and salvation.   We are organizing this marathon prayer to start on August 1st  and run throughout the month.  According to Nehemiah’s vision to restore Jerusalem, we wish to pray for peace and freedom on a 24-hr, non stop prayer sessions by churches around the world.  Please contact us to let us know the dates and times that you are able to participate in this prayer.

“Baptism by Fire”: The Movie That Back-fired

By Massi Ghavami (The Nejat Church Newsletter Editor)

Have you heard of a film called “Baptism by Fire”?  It is a film, one of those so called “cultural education” films, promoted by the Islamic government of Iran intended to smear Christianity. In this film, the producers used video clips from TBN Nejat TV and testimonies of believers to show a terrible image of Christianity.  They tried to portrait a downbeat image of Christian TV programs and converts.  But, the Holy Spirit must have intervened because the film has back fired on the Islamic government.  The film has become popular among Iranians who are hungry to hear about the Lord.  The images contain phone numbers and website addresses for Nejat TV which allows viewers to contact us.   This film has promoted TBN Nejat TV programs and has made many people aware of our broadcasts.  We praise God for His majesty and wondrous ways.  Amen.
