Today’s sermon by Pastor Massoud Sadeghi was filled as usual with the fruits of the Holy Spirit. He spoke in Farsi (Persian) and the program was recorded for broadcast to Iran. Here is a summary of his sermon (and I paraphrase):
There are two truths before us. One is the false and the temporary truth of this world. The other is the eternal and definitive truth of the Lord. The Lord’s truth is that Jesus took our pains and sufferings so we could be free and receive life and his blessings through faith in Jesus Christ. (Read: 1Peter 4:8 and James 4:7)
The topic of the sermon was: “Receive your blessings in faith and hold on to them by faith also”. Pastor Massoud reminded us that: “Jesus lifted and removed our pains.” He added: “I have good news for you. Satan is defeated. Jesus broke Satan’s neck. Satan must be and is afraid of you believers. Ask with faith for what God has planned for you and claim it with confidence in Jesus’ name. ” (Read Galatians 3:13)
The light of our path is the word of God. Because God’s word is alive and is powerful, through faith God’s gifts and blessings will flow toward you. It’s only through faith that we’re saved and we will be able to sit with Jesus in heaven.
Kelisa (Church) comes from the word Eclesia, meaning “called for”. Today, we are called to know Jesus and God’s word. Members of the church are called to give love and kindness to others. Nejat Church is based on God’s love.
The way to receive blessings is through giving love to one another. You, the believers are the living letters. Like a tree filled with fruits of spirit, if you are shaken with the troubles of this world, you’ll not be afraid or defensive, but you will give fruits of your love to this world.
God infinitely loves us; knows us and wants the best for us. We must go to God with confidence knowing that we’re saved through Jesus Christ; having faith that Jesus will respond to our requests. Do you want to create faith in others? (Read Acts 14: 6-10) It is through the word of God that faith can be built in others… Amen.
